（推測で）～だと思う、考える

＊guess …　推測に確証があるかどうかわからない。
→I guess she’s around your age.
→We guessed you’ll be late.

＊assume …　guessよりは確証がある。推測が事実だと思っている。ただし自分が真実だと思っているだけで証拠があるわけではない。
→I assume you’re still not done with work?
→I assume we need to pay the rent by Monday.

＊suppose …　同じく推測するという意味で、言うことが事実だと思っているが、不確実であることもいとわない。thinkよりも確証が低い。
→I suppose things are difficult here during the winter.
→We suppose it depends on the driver.

きっと～だ

＊I bet (that) …　～に違いない。be sure thatより強い。
→I bet they’re dating.
→I bet you’re tired from all the traveling.

＊I’m sure (that) …　きっと～である。否定形でも使える。　
→I’m sure you can relate.
→I’m not sure if I can see you tonight.

連想する

＊associate　連想する。関連づけるという意味でも使える。
→I don’t want to be associated with him.
→The group is associated with drug crimes.
