立つ

＊stand　立つ。座っている状態や寝ている状態等、立つ以外の身体の状態から立つときに使う。standの後にupやstill等がつくことによって、立ち方や位置を示すことができる。
→Stand still!
(立った状態で)動くな！
→Can you stand up?
立ってくれる？

自立する

＊be independent 独立する。経済的、精神的等あらゆる独立や自立を指す。
→She has to be financially independent.
彼女は経済的に独立する必要がある。
→When did you become independent?
いつ独立したの？

目立つ、際立つ

＊stand out 目立つ、際立つ。中立的で、良い意味でも悪い意味でも使える。
→You love to stand out, don’t you.
　あなたって目立つのが大好きだよね。
→I’m wearing a very red coat and I stand out in the crowd.
　真っ赤なコートを来ているから、人混みの中にいても目立つよ。
