鳴る、鳴らす

＊ring …　鳴る、鳴らす。電話等を鳴らすとき、また物がはっきりとした、通常高い音を鳴らすときに使う。
→Can you ring my phone?
　電話かけてくれる？
→Someone rang the doorbell.
　誰かがドアベルを鳴らしたよ。

＊sound　鳴る。通常大きな音を出すとき、あるいは大きな音が出るときに使う。
→You have to leave the building immediately if the alarm sounds.
　警報が鳴ったら、ただちにビルを出てください。
→The buzzer sounded.
　ブザーが鳴った。
