測る

＊measure　測る。高さ、長さ、広さ、深さ等を測るときに使える。また、何かの質や効果等を計るときにも使える。
→How can we measure how deep this lake is?
　この池の深さはどうやって測ることができるの？
→It’s not easy to measure one’s ability.
　人の能力を計ることはたやすくない。

＊weigh　量る。重さを量るときに使う。
→Let’s weigh the baby.
　赤ちゃんの重さを量ってみよう。
→I don’t want to weigh myself.
　自分の体重を量りたくない。

＊survey　測量する。土地等を測量する時に使う。
→The government has to survey this land.
　政府がこの土地を測量しなくてはいけない。
→She surveyed the coasts of Japan.
　彼女は日本の海岸を測量（調査）した。
