とがめる、非難する、批判する

＊criticize …　批判する。シンプルでよく使う。
→Why do you always criticize me?
　どうしていつも私を批判するの？
→It’s not bad to criticize.
　批判することは悪いことではない。

＊lambast …　猛烈に批判する。
→The coach lambasted the team for its performance.
　コーチはチームのパフォーマンスを猛烈に批判した。
→Activists are lambasting the bill.
　活動家たちは法案を猛烈に批判している。

＊denounce …　非難する、とがめる。公の場で相手が悪い、相手のことを責めるときに使う。
→Lawmakers denounced the prime minister.
　議員たちは首相を（公の場で）非難した。
→Why can’t we denounce them?
　なぜ私たちは彼らを（公の場で）非難してはいけないの？

＊grill …　問い詰める。批判して問い詰めるニュアンスがある。答えを求めている。
→Opposition party members grilled the prime minister during the Diet.
　野党の議員が国会中に首相を猛烈に問い詰めた。
→Don’t grill her like that.
　そう彼女を問い詰めるなよ。
