求める

＊require …　～を必要とする、必須条件である。
→Does your job require a lot of stamina?
　あなたの仕事は体力を必要とするの？
→Visitors are required to hand in their phone numbers.
　客は電話番号を提出することを必要とされている。

＊request …　～をしてもらうよう誰かにお願いする。お願いなので、要求したことが却下・拒否される可能性もある。
→Can we request access?
　アクセスしてもいいかお願いできるかな？
→We should request more photos.
　もっと写真をもらえるか聞いてみよう。

＊demand …　〜を要求する。requestやrequireと比べて要求の度合いが強い。
→We should demand more photos.
　もっと写真をもらえるよう求めよう。（requestより強い）
→I demand an explanation.
　説明しろ。
→I think the kid is demanding milk.
　その子、ミルクを要求しているんだと思うよ。

＊call on AA to do …　〜するようAA（政府などの公式の団体）にお願いする、求める。
→The citizens have called on the government to bring an end to corruption.
　市民たちは、腐敗を終わらすよう政府に求めた。
