突っ込む、突き刺す

＊stick AA into BB　AAをBBに突っ込む。やや乱暴に突っ込んでいる感じがする。
→He stuck a needle into my arm to take some blood out.
　彼は私の腕に注射針を刺して血を抜いた。
→Can you stick this letter into the mailbox?
　この手紙をポストの中に入れてくれない（突っ込んでくれない）？

＊shove　無造作に突っ込んだり、押したりする時に使う。stickと比べるとやや力が強いイメージ。
→Can you shove your hand in there?
　中に手を突っ込んでくれない？
→They started shoving each other.
　彼らはお互いに押し合い始めた。

突き抜ける

＊penetrate　物理的に何かが貫通する。力を込めて何かを貫通させる時にも使う。また、気体等が浸透する時にも使う。
→This material cannot be penetrated by a bullet.
　この素材を銃弾が貫通することはありません。
→Outdoor air pollutants can penetrate buildings.
　外気汚染物質は建物内に浸透することがある。

＊pierce　尖ったもので突き刺すイメージ、突き抜くイメージ。
→I had to pierce a hole in my belt.
　ベルトに穴を開けなければならなかった。

突然～な状態になる

＊burst into AA　突如AAな状態になる。AAには笑い、涙、炎などの名詞が入る。
→We were talking normally until she burst into tears.　
　私たちは普通に話していたのだけれど、彼女が突然泣き出した。
→The house burst into flames.
　家が突然燃えだした。
