＊show … 表す、示す。何かを具体的に指している。
→Can you show me the graph?
図を見せてくれる？
→The report showed that there was a decrease in crime.
レポートは犯罪件数が下がっていると示していた。
＊indicate … ほのめかす、示唆する。showと比べるとやや間接的なニュアンスがある。
→He indicated that we’ll be getting a rise.
彼は賃上げをほのめかした。
→The report indicated that there was a decrease in crime.

指摘する
＊point to AA AAを指摘する、示す。自分の意見や主張を支持するためにAAを指摘する時、AAを重要だと思っているのでわざわざ指摘しているニュアンスがある。
→He pointed to the revenue he made for the firm.
彼は自分が企業のために作った収益を指摘した。
→All these evidence point to homicide.
全ての証拠が殺人だとあらわしている。
