混ぜる、混ざる

＊stir … かき混ぜる、混ざる。物理的なのを混ぜる時に使う他、感情や活動をかき乱したり、それらのものが活発になる時にも使える。
→That stirs memories from my childhood.
それは幼少時代の記憶を思い起こさせる。
→Can you stir the flour gently?
小麦粉を優しくかき混ぜてもらえる？

＊mix … 異なる２つ以上のものを混ぜる、混ざる。
→Oil and water don’t mix.
油と水は混じり合わない。

混同する

＊confuse AA with BB AAとBBを混同する
→Many people confuse a stroke with a heart attack.
脳卒中と心臓発作を混同してしまう人は多い。
→I think you’re confusing me with my sister.
私を姉と間違えられていると思うのですが…。

＊mix … up 〜を混同する。
→Be careful not to mix up the bottles!
ボトルを混同しないように気をつけてね！
→They look so alike that it’s impossible not to mix them up.
二人はあまりにも似ているから、混同しない方が無理な話だ。
