評価する

＊think …[highly/little] of AA　AAを高評価する（highly)、またはよく思わない(little)、どうでもいいと思っている(little)。
→Why do you think so highly of him?
　あなたはどうして彼のことをそんなによく思っているの？
→I feel like my boss thinks little of me.
　私は上司にどうでもいいと思われているように感じる。

＊credit AA with[for] BB　AAがBB（良いこと）をしたとして評価する。give AA creditという言い方もする。
→She is credited for the company’s success. / She is credited with making the business successful.
　彼女は事業を成功させた。
→Give her some credit.
　彼女を評価してやれよ。

＊evaluate … 　評価する。量や価値、質や数値など幅広く評価するときに使える。
→I need to evaluate your performance.
　あなたのパフォーマンスを評価しなくてはいけない。
→How can we evaluate their business?
　彼らのビジネスをどう評価できるだろう？

＊assess …　査定する。資産やものの価値や能力、質等をを査定する。評価結果が数値として出ないときも使える。
→We need to assess the value of the property. 
　資産価値を見極める（査定する）必要がある。
→The CFO of Credit Suisse will assess various scenarios.
　クレディ・スイスのCFOが様々なシナリオを評価する。

＊appraise …　価値（値段）を設定する、査定する。数値以外の話をするときは硬い印象になる。
→They appraised the painting at 1 billion dollars. 
　その絵画は10億円の価値がついた。
→This company appraises teamwork instead of individual performance.
　この会社では、個人の成績ではなく、チームワークを評価する。
