明らかにする

＊show　明らかにする。見せる。万能。よく使う。
→Can you show me what you wrote?
　君が書いたものを見せてくれる？
→Show her what you found.
　君が見つけたものを彼女に見せな。
→The numbers show that Tokyo is running out of hospital beds for COVID patients.
　数値を見ると、東京のコロナ病床が足りなくなってきていることが分かる。

＊reveal　知られていないことを明らかにする、暴露するイメージ。見えなかったものが見えるようになるという言葉としても使うが、前者の方が圧倒的に多い。
→The experiment revealed that face shields are not as effective as masks to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
　コロナウィルスの拡大を防ぐために、フェイスシールドはマスクほど効果的ではないということを実験は明らかにした。
→Researchers revealed that the medicine is not effective.
　研究者たちは、薬が効果的ではないということを明らかにした。
→They reveal their newest car today.
　彼らは今日最新の車を公開する。
