関係を切る

＊break up 　別れる。主に恋愛関係にある人たちが別れるときに使う。
→Why did they break up?
どうして彼らは別れたの？
→I broke up with him last week.
先週彼と別れたの。

【番外編】
＊stop talking (to/with)…　〜と話すのをやめる、疎遠になる。友人と疎遠になる時によく使う。
→Why did you guys stop talking to each other?
どうして疎遠になっちゃったの？
→We stopped talking.
わたしたちは疎遠になった。

裏切る

＊betray … 　裏切る。
→He will never betray you.
彼があなたを裏切ることはないよ。
→I feel betrayed.
裏切られた気分だ。

AAを下回る

＊drop[dip/go/dive etc.] below AA　AAを下回る。数値の話をしているときに使う。上回るときはgo/rise etc. aboveを使う。
→The temperature dropped/dipped/went below zero degrees Celsius.
気温が０度以下になった。
→Bitcoin dived below 250,000 yen again.
ビットコインが２５０万円を切った。

ハンドルを切る

＊turn the wheel　ハンドルを切る。Wheels are turningはイディオムで、既に物事が進行中であることを指す。
→You have to turn the wheels!
　ハンドルを回して！
→The wheels are turning and there is no going back.
　もうすでに始まっているから、戻り用がない。

期限が切れる

＊expire　期限が切れる。食べ物の賞味期限が切れたり、契約や資格等の期限が切れる他、人が死ぬときにも使える。
→I think this milk is expired.
　この牛乳、賞味期限が切れているみたい。
→My driver’s license is about to expire.
　運転免許証の期限が切れそうだ。
→He expired after fighting cancer.
　彼は癌との闘病の末亡くなった。
