印を付ける

＊mark …　印をつける。ペンなどで物理的に印をつける他、報道英語では行事に特別な意味づけをするときに使われることが多々ある。
→Be careful not to mark the photos with your finger.
指で写真にあとをつけないよう気をつけてね。
→Japan marked the 77th anniversary of the end of WWII on August 15.
日本は8月15日、終戦77周年を迎えた。

点数を付ける

＊score …　点数をつける。また、スポーツにおいては点数をきめるという意味で使われる。
→You can score more goals by doing this.
こうすることによって、もっとゴールを決められるよ。
→The judge will score the competitors.
審査員が競技者を採点する。

日記を付ける

＊keep a journal/diary　日記をつける。journalという一言だけでも日記をつけるという意味にもなる。
→I love journaling.
日記をつけるのが大好きなの。
→How long have you been keeping your journal/diary?
