優先順位を付ける

＊set priorities　優先順位をつける。
→We have to set priorities.
優先順位をつけなくてはいけない。
→Set your priorities straight.
優先順位をつけてやらなきゃダメだよ。

見張りを付ける

＊hire a guard　警備を雇う、見張りをつける。
→They’re going to hire a guard for us.
彼らは私たちのために警備を雇ってくれる。
→Thousands of guards were hired.
何千人もの警備員が雇われた。

値段を付ける

＊sell for …　〜の値段で売る。
→How much do we want to sell this for?
これをどれくらいの値段で売る？（どれくらいの値段をつける？）

＊offer …　オファーする、提供するという意味でも使われるが、払うという意味でも使える。〜の値段で売られる、〜の値段をつけると言う意味でも使える。
→The plate was offered for 5 dollars.
皿は五ドルで売られていた。（５ドルの値段をつけられていた。）
→How much can you offer?
どれくらい払えるの？

名前を付ける

＊name …　名前をつける。誰かや何かにちなんで名前をつけるときにも使う。
→What are we going to name the child?
子どもの名前はどうする？
→Kobe was named after the city in Japan.
コーベは日本の都市にちなんで名付けられた。

弁護士を付ける

＊hire/get a lawyer　弁護士を雇う、弁護士をつける。
→Let’s hire/get the best lawyer in town.
この辺で一番良い弁護士を雇おう。
→Do you want to hire/get a lawyer?
